To create headspace for young students to feel supported, confident and empowered so that they can transition smoothly to the next thing – e.g. going to secondary, to college, to university, to jobs … to success.
Create headspace for young students to feel supported, confident and empowered.
Service trialled to the test on 5th November 2020.
Hannah, whose mother is one of us FNANERs, excited about what FNAN is doing, she contacted FNAN about her brilliant idea of assisting children transitioning in school. This she said was based on her own experience growing up. Targeting 9 to 11 year olds and she named and themed it as Climb in-Transition to Secondary School.
On the day Hannah prepared a novel situational game, that requires intense and enjoyable engagement, reflective and that measures one’s sense of judgment, and justifications there of; there is no right or wrong, but all about charting the right course of actions encouraging participation, critical out-of-the-box thinking, team working and much more.
This was unique and was highly acclaimed by around 25 children who loved the occasion; The one remarkable thing the children wanted to know was when will be the next event.
Feedback and questions
Mentor’s meeting 12/01/2021
applauses and nice words from webinar participants
Question by a number of participants: when and how often these are going to be delivered as a FNAN service? Hannah pledged to volunteer her very valuable time, she is a fresher first year engineering student, at Imperial college, a very demanding institution–every three weeks, but FNAN suggested once every month.
The next session to start off 2021 will be announced in due course
There is a possibility this could be formatted for transitioning to A-Level, to University — just a pause of thought for Hannah – transitioning fnanlet.
Complements
FNAN is very proud of Hannah on her energy, commitment and sense of duty to our community, Fnan’s Tranisitioning Fnanlet
